Simple Pleasures
Over the last couple of days I've thought a lot about how God has blessed me with such sweet simple pleasures.
It began Friday night after work when I meet up with 9 friends at our Vineyard Church crop. It's such a wonderful group to spend time with. I think cropping brings out the best in people. As we share our photos and our work we laugh and remember wonderful moments God has blessed us with. It amazes me how many small but very important moments take place in my life each day.
Most of yesterday was spent with my 25 yr. old son, Joe Nathan. He usually comes up from "downtown" on the weekends to do laundry. =) We ran a few errands and then went to the 6pm evening service at Vineyard. I find great joy in attending worship service with each of my children. I remember when we we use to fill a whole church pew. That was before God's plan for their leaving Kansas City began to unfold. Even though Jessica is now in Arkansas and Jeremiah is in North Carolina they are always very near in my heart.
After church last night, I ended up over at a friends house with 4 other friends and we laughed and scrapped until we were all almost too tired to drive home. We aren't nearly as good as we used to be at cropping into the wee hours of the morning. Age and work days certainly do get in my way of getting all the fun things done that I like to plan. =)
This morning I spent time over at Jonathan's ordering photos. I even went back and ordered a few of Stephen from a couple of years ago. My heart is overjoyed by the sweetness of times gone by. It's hard to believe that he will be starting kindergarten in the fall. The best part of that is that he will attend one of the schools that I work at which means I will get to see him every morning before he goes to his little class. See, God just keeps blessing me!!!
I think the thing that I most need to do is take the time to realize that today---this day----is a day that in only a matter of time will be a day that I look back upon with a happy heart and sweet memories that bring tears to my eyes. When I talk about my kids and times gone by you can just bet that I will usually do so with lots of tears------oh, but that's okay because they are GOOD tears! =)
Okay, and now the reason for a new post-------I've added a new page kit. I'm also working on another that will have something to do with summer, paper pieced popsicles, and probably something else paper pieced. I never know what a layout will look like before it happens. =)
I want to thank each of you for stopping by and visiting my blog. I'd love to hear from each of you and what's going on in your day(s). Please, drop me an email.
Blessings,
Diane
