Happy Tuesday everyone!
Well, school's finally out which means regular Adventure Club (our school district's before & after school age childcare) is over and now we've moved on to Summer Adventure Club. It was really tough this year because we didn't have any type of break in between the ending of one session and the beginning of another session. If fact, it was crazier than EVER because the last 5 days of regular session was no school and no field trips so we were stuck "on site" for the entire week. It was a long "ending" for all of us including the kiddos.
Jess came in from Arkansas on Sunday. She will be staying here at my "scrapbooking apartment" for the summer while she's working for Adventure Club. I think she's finding it a little harder being away from Clint and the kid's than she thought. However, she's so busy during the day and so exhausted in the evening that she doesn't have a lot of time to reflect on the miles in between. Let me tell ya-----doing a good job of taking care of someone else's children is demanding----far more taxing than raising your own! But for some CRAZY reason, we both really enjoy it! Go figure!!!!
Needless to say, I've not done any scrapbooking for the last 2 weeks. I just can't seem to get it worked into my schedule! There's so many theme ideas jumbled in my brain ----I just need to try & unscramble them by writing them down on a piece of paper. Jess and I did buy some new paper last week that we are dieing to get started on. It will have something to do with water/swimming, nature/planting flowers, & ice cream cones. I still want to do a "Got Milk?" because I have a really cute cow that I want to paper piece. I also want to do a fishing one because I took some cute pictures of Stephen and Uncle Joe fishing in the little pond behind Stephen's house a couple weeks ago. I really need to look to see what pictures I have on my camera. I know I've got some on there that I've forgotten I've even taken!
Carter James is growing like a weed. He's just over 7 months now and has 2 teeth. I haven't gotten pics of the new teeth yet because they're still a little small. He is getting blonder & blonder all the time---------doesn't look a thing like his almost 1/2 Native American dad!! His eyes are still very blue and has the sweetest smile that melts this MeMa's heart! I've taken some rescent pictures that I need to do something with. It's absolutley amazing at how much babies can change in --say 2 weeks. I'm trying to do a better job of scrapbooking Carter's 1st year than I did of Stephen's 1st year.
This coming weekend is my "monthly weekend crop" so I'm hoping to get something accomplished over those couple of days. I'll be ever so pleased if it proves to be one of my more productive weekends. Sometimes I seem to do more visiting than scrapping ----but it's just so nice to do just that ever once in a while! My fellow scrapbookers are such wonderful people and I love spending time with them!
Well, I really don't know that I had anything worth saying this time-------just wanted to let you know that I'm still around. I probably would've had more to share if I had waited until tonight after Bible study to type a new post! =) God never misses an oppurtunity to speak to me. I know He's finding it hard these days to get my undivided attention. I think I hear Him saying, "Focus, Diane, I'm trying to talk to you, focus. That's what Jonathan says to Stephen when he's trying to keep his attention-------the wonderful part is that God never stops being the Father. (and maybe Stephen is more like his MeMa than most people realize.)
I hope that each of you have a wonderful week and upcoming weekend. I hope that you find yourself basking in the blessings of the Heavenly Father as you spend time with family and friends. We are so blessed with each day that we are given to share with those so special to us!
Blessings,
Diane
